On May 9, opens the admission for sub-measure 7.6 "Studies and investments associated with maintenance, restoration and enhancement of the cultural and natural heritage of villages" of the Rural Development Program.

The total program budget for 2014-2020 is 40 million Euros as for this reception are planned 25 million Euros and the maximum eligible project expenses are € 400,000.

Eligible activities will be the repair of rural churches and other buildings of religious significance, as well as activities for the vertical planning and improvement of the surrounding areas.

The 3rd of June is the deadline for receiving the documents in the regional directorates of fund "Agriculture".

The admission of the project was delayed from its scheduled date for start which was the 15th of April because of inconsistencies in the statute of the Bulgarian Church with the terms of the program.

These differences were adjusted and the Agriculture Ministry agreed to modify the ordinance to the requests of the Holy Synod.

Another possibility for applying for EU funds for religious buildings is under Priority Axis 6 of the Operational Program "Regions in growth." The resources for it are nearly 200 million Lev.
